Fullstack Job: Embedded Android Engineer (m-f-d) in München

For our Munich Office, we are looking for an Android AOSP Software Development Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team of experts to support broad activities related to the Embedded Android AOSP development and integration.

We are a Munich-based specialist provider for embedded software and OS solutions. We have been supporting our main customers in the automotive, medical and automation industries since 2004 by developing specialized code and innovative solutions.

To be successful in this role at L4B, you will need some initial experience in low-level software, be enthusiastic about software development and enjoy learning from experts.

Responsibilities:

• Develop software in C and C++ on Linux and Android OSP platforms
• Test software using debuggers, emulators and simulators
• Perform software releases and software quality assurance activities
• Write unit and integration tests
• Creates and executes designs for small sets of new functionality as part of a software project
• May perform as a technical leader or Lead Software Engineer for derivative software project
• Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions
• Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
• Perform technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems.
• Work in both an agile and waterfall software development environments
• Expertise and passion in trunk based development and good understanding of (SDLC) Software Development Lifecycle

Requirements

• Expertise with Linux-Kernel-based OS (including OS architecture, file systems, security)
• Experience in C/C++ development and/or Java
• Experience with building the AOSP
• Good debugging skills (adb, dltviewer, HCI logs analysis or other debugging tool)
• Experience with SW version control in Git, Gerrit and/or Zuul
• BSc/MSc Computer Science, Informatik, Electronic Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Willingness to work in a permanent hybrid position, i.e. 3 days per week working in the Munich office & 2 days per week remote

Nice to have:

• Hands-on with BT and/or Wi-Fi stack
• Understanding of SELinux policy
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns
• Experience with integration of vendor HALs
• Understanding and Implementation of low-level drivers (firmware and codec)
• Experience working in CI/CD/CT environment
• Experience with the agile software development cycle
• Experience with LXC/Docker containers

Salary: 60,000.00€ - 70,000.00€ per year
